🇬🇧 The future of Skincare is here, and it is coming from Asia as we all know. It’s already overwhelming to keep up with the Beauty world terminology or to decode a product’s ingredient list, but we’re now having a bunch of new trends reshaping the way we think about skincare.

What are these new trends, how do they work and how can you get the best out of them? Follow the guide.

PolyGLUTAMIC ACID (PGA)

Polyglutamic acid is a naturally derived biopolymer originally found in traditional Japanese natto (fermented soybeans). Its unique structure enables it to hold up to 5,000 times its weight in water—far surpassing the already impressive superstar hyaluronic acid and its 1000 times retaining capacity. This makes PGA a hydration superstar, locking in moisture to keep your skin plump, smooth, and radiant.

Beyond its exceptionally hydrating properties, its larger molecular size allows it to form a thin, breathable film on the skin’s surface, providing a smoothing and lifting effect that instantly works.

Because it’s a plant-based and sustainable ingredient, PGA will be the perfect answer to the growing demand for eco-conscious beauty.

EXOSOMES

Exosomes are small vesicles derived from stem cells that contain proteins, lipids and nucleic acids (like DNA). They’re tiny messengers that allow cells to communicate with each other.

They stimulate fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin, promote cellular turnover, repair any skin damage and have anti-inflammatory properties.

As we age, the skin’s ability to respond to messages from exosomes decreases which is why adding them to your routine will help.

Exosomes are used in-office (paired with procedures like microneedling in South Korea), but you can also introduce them into your daily routine with serums and ampoules.

EGF

Exosomes are packed with Epidermal Growth Factors (EGF), a naturally occurring protein in the body that stimulates cell growth, proliferation and differentiation. In Skincare, synthetic or bioengineered EGFs are used to repair damaged skin and slow down the ageing process.

Because they promote the production of new cells, they improve skin texture, fine lines and scars and strengthen the skin barrier.

You can use them in creams and serums. Consistency is even more important here as long-term use amplifies its regenerative effect.

PDRN

Derived from Salmon DNA (the infamous “salmon sperm”) which has a remarkable similarity to human DNA, PDRN is a game changer in wound healing and anti-aging.

Not only does it help the skin retain moisture more effectively, but it also stimulates fibroblast activity and activates cell growth.

It’s used both in-office in injectables in South Korea (Rejuran and salmon injections, through microneedling or injected point by point) or via topical applications at home in your creams and serums.

Our Pick
Genabelle PDRN Rejuvenating Cream
$28.00
